Hongbing Li was born in 1962 and is originally from Yutai, Shandong. A professional painter based in Beijing, he studied with He Jiaying from 1986 and graduated from the Fine Arts Department of Hebei University in 1990.

His Eastern Beauty series connects the human figure with nature, life and female strength. The paintings bring restrained Eastern aesthetics together with vivid color and recurring botanical and animal imagery.
